Thermal City Gold Mine schedules what is called Common Digs, where anyone can pay a fee and participate in the working & sharing of gold mining. Participants receive an orientation where the operation is discussed...and then individual 'duties or jobs' are gone over. The two main goals of ours...is to Find Gold...and for You to have fun.

The material is dug by backhoe & brought to the mining site by dump truck.  It is fed to our sluices by a conveyor system.  The process is completed in two shifts each day of the two day dig.

About sixteen dump truck loads of material will be processed in the two day dig. This concentrates down to about 2 gallons of black sands which contain gold. Once done, Lloyd Nanney (owner and operator), will divide the gold into portions. Each person participating in the common dig will then share in the "Finds" by means of a drawing. Two things you can definitely count on: You will find gold, and you will have fun! Thermal City Gold Mine also has a campground and a store on-site.
